We met on Bumble in January 2022, exchanged a few messages, and were doing that classic early-dating dance: texting a lot for a day, disappearing for a day, pretending to be mysterious, accidentally being busy, you know — the usual.Then one night around 11pm, Sammy bought a mini deep fryer. A normal person might simply… enjoy the purchase. But Sammy decided this was urgent, life-altering news that absolutely needed to be delivered over the phone.So she called Stephen. At 11pm. On a weeknight. After barely knowing him.And the wildest part? He answered.What was supposed to be a 30-second “Guess what I bought?” turned into an hour-long conversation that felt effortless, funny, and strangely familiar — like we had known each other far longer than a week. That single late-night call became the start of everything. From there, we never really stopped talking.Somewhere between the deep fryer confession, the 8 hour long phone calls, the shared snacks, the comfort, the adventures, the debates about UFC and the laughter that kept coming… we found a partnership that felt steady, joyful, and beautifully ours.

Feye is my little sister, one of my favorite people to eat with, and now a certified therapist (lucky me).

Six years apart, but she’s always been one of my constants.  She is smart, caring, and somehow always knowing exactly what to say. She’s also spunky, confident, and does not back down from anyone—which is slightly intimidating considering she’s a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. I’ve learned to stay on her good side. I’m so proud of her and so lucky to have her as my Maid of Honor.

Jill and I may be cousins, but have built our friendship on three core pillars: thrift store wins, elite-level Korean BBQ strategy (we don’t play), and spilling tea when the situation calls for it. We are also each other’s trusted cat sitters, which means Kazu and Pia are not just friends and cousins they are besties. Jill has such a gentle, grounding presence and is always someone I can count on. I wouldn’t want to do this without her by my side.

Taylor and I have been friends since high school, which means she witnessed (and survived) all of my teenage (and young adult) phases and honestly, she was right there with me for most of them. I basically lived at her house back then, so a huge thank you to her mom Jo for taking me in like one of her own. Taylor is one of the most supportive and kind people I know she’s always there, no questions asked. We’ve screamed our hearts out at countless concerts over the years, and she is hands down my favorite person to jam out with in the car to our 2010 emo anthems.

Giulia (aka Giu or Giubaby) and I met while working at Pandora, where I guess you could say I found my favorite charm. What started as coworkers quickly turned into an instant best-friend connection—no surprise there. From day one, we clicked instantly—like, twin-level instantly. I call her my twin because we are so alike in so many ways—from our sense of humour down to our literal laugh. Being around her feels effortless, like we’re always on the same wavelength. We even ended up working together again at Procom, because clearly one workplace couldn’t contain us.

Where do I even start with this one? My younger brother, Daniel and I have done everything together we can guess each other’s next moves. He’s the definition of someone who follows his passion. A larger-than-life personality with an even bigger voice. If you’re ever feeling down or need a pick-me-up, have a chat with Daniel—if you can catch him! There was never any question who would be standing by my side on this day.

As the oldest cousin, I grew up with Rob and Mike through years of sports, video games, and a lot of friendly competition. Rob’s my go-to for anything video games, tech, or UFC—and no matter what the task is, he’s always there to help. Mike is our resident expert on health, sports, and has all the stats. He is always there to talk me through things and somehow make it all make sense. He also has an unreal memory of anything we have been through… and usually the photos to prove it.

I’m lucky to have grown up with them—and even luckier to have them standing by my side today.

Featuring an indoor pool, this hotel is within 15 minutes’ drive from Canada's Wonderland Amusement Park and Pearson International Airport. A complimentary hot breakfast is served daily. Rooms include free WiFi. A 43-inch flat-screen TV is included in each guest room at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Toronto Vaughan. An iPod docking station and a sofa bed are also provided. A seating area, microwave and refrigerator are available, along with a safe. The fitness room features a mounted flat-screen TV and a variety of cardio equipment.
